After months of the Nigerian public waiting for his new gig, ace broadcaster, Frank Edoho, has been unveiled as host of new TV show, The Price is Right. Edoho, a University of Calabar graduate who earned himself huge followership for hosting Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, is the new anchor of internationally-acclaimed game show, The Price Is Right (TPIR) recently acquired by Genesis Studios, a leading Television & Film production company in Nigeria.
Widely regarded for his witty nature and all-round charm, the celebrated TV host told journalists at the unveiling event held at The Shell Hall, Muson Centre, Lagos on Wednesday that he is thrilled by the uniqueness of The Price Is Right.
“This is a show bursting with energy from start to finish and that force is transmitted right out of your TV monitors and into the homes of viewers. We can’t just wait for it to get started,” he said. Unveiled alongside Edoho at the event graced by hundreds of thought leaders, captains of industries, marketing communications experts and notable individuals in the entertainment industry is Cool FM OAP, Emmanuel Essien, popularly known as “Mannie” who was named the announcer of TPIR.
The event came with unforgettable excitement for guests through a demo in a relaxed atmosphere. An American TV game show adjudged to be the most successful game show in television history, The Price is Right is owned by Freemantle Media International.
On his role as an announcer, Mannie urged Nigerians to participate actively in the show, saying: “The Price Is Right is quick from start to finish. It is openly transparent, the prizes are so diverse and anyone can get on the show regardless of background or qualifications. It’s truly for every Nigerian.”
